Concert Review
Posted in FSH Scavenger Hunt on December 11, 2009 by syds4578I went my first concert in the U.S. It was really meaningful and amazing to me. The Circus Starring: Britney Spears was the concert what I saw, ant it was shown at HP Pavilion in San Jose on April 12, 2009. Since I was a middle school student, I have like her and enjoyed her music. The Circus Starring Britney Spears 2009 tour was a good chance to me. I went with my sister and it was really enjoyable.
The three circular stages set up in the center of concert place, and the 90 minute sets for concert on songs from her most recent album, “Circus” and “Blackout,” Spears also did some of her hot songs from past albums such as Do somethin, I’m slave 4 U, Toxic and Baby one more time. The display of music, dance, magic and theatrics are perfect and with its cast including 50 dancers, magicians, clowns and acrobats, and other staffs for concert, the show was totally amazing. I could understand why Britney Spears is one of the top-selling artists of the last decade. I saw she has sold in excess of 63 million albums worldwide to date.
Pussycat Dolls opened Britney Spears concert. They are also amazing. The show begins with a video introduction featuring Perez Hilton parodying Queen Elizabeth I. Britney Spears appears in the video from behind a curtain and shoots the inflatable ball he is seated on with a crossbow. As the video ends, the curtain goes up and she descends on a suspended platform, dressed in ringleader attire to perform “Circus”. After that, she sang “Piece of Me” in a golden cage and acrobats’ performance came out before she goes into “Radar”. After some interludes, she did “Gimme more”, and she reappeared on the stage to perform “Hot as ice” in a different outfit. She also performed “Boys”, “If U seek Amy”, “Me Against the Music” and “Everytime” and so on. The most performance what I like was a medley of “Breathe on me” and “Touch of my hand”. Every stage was filling up with different theme with a lot of beautiful and interesting material arts. She ends a concert with Womanizer. Everything in there made me exciting. I can remind my life as one of Britney Spears fan, and it was really amazing experience to me.

Fashionable neighborhoods in the S.F Bay Area
Posted in FSH Scavenger Hunt on December 8, 2009 by syds4578An explaining the top five most fashionable neighborhoods in the San Francisco Bay area.

1. Uion Square : one of San Francisco’s main retail and cultural centers and one of my favorite shopping places. today the area is definitely a tribute to the power of shopping. Union Square is a major tourist draw, a vital, cosmopolitan place in downtown San Francisco. there are six major department stores. Saks fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, blooming dales, Macy’s and Nordstrom are all around the union square. and there are also famous exclusive couture and high fashion with luxurious upscale boutiques such as a Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo, Yves Saint Laurent, Burberry, Prada and Marc Jacobs and so on. there also have some clothing, home, beauty and shoes retail stores around the union square. Union Square is the center of fashion in San Francisco, and many fashion people come and enjoy fashion in there.
2. Fillmore
Fillmore Street holds some of San Francisco’s most famous shops and restaurants. This street, filled with unique and delightful stores, restaurants and coffee shops stretches along Fillmore Street from Jackson Street to Geary Street. Fillmore Street is mostly upscale but without any snobbery and with more of a friendly neighborhood feel to it. Most of the businesses are housed in Victorian buildings and there is a very multi-cultured flair in the goods and food offered on the street. There are fashion stores such as a Marc Jacobs, Elisa Wen, Betsey Johnson and Jigsaw and there are many beauty brands stores and art galleries.

3. Walnut Creek
here is also one of my favorite shopping place. Walnut Creek lies in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, and here serves as the business and entertainment hub for the neighboring cities within central Contra Costa County. there are major department such as a Nordstrom and Macy’s and also has a lot of street stores such as urban outfitters, free people, H&M, Juicy couture, J.Crew, Vitoria’s Secret, Gap, Banana republic, Sephora, Crate and barrel and some of multi-store. Gucci boutique is already come in Nordstrom, and few years later, Neiman Marcus and Marc Jacobs will come soon.

4. Santana Row
Santana Row is a one-of-a-kind neighborhood that blends a distinctive mix of living, shopping and dining experiences. here is like Europe. Retail names synonymous with the highest quality, including Gucci and Salvatore Ferragamo call Santana Row home for their South Bay signature stores. English designer Ted Baker chose the Row for his first west coast space. California-based boutiques like Pink Stripes offer a unique combination of women’s fashion and gourmet chocolates. More familiar names such as Anthropologie, Crate and Barrel, Best Buy and Sur La Table can also be found within this retail mosaic. A shopper of any caliber would be hard pressed to visit Santana Row and walk away empty handed.

5. Union Street
Union Street offers all the charm and services of an old-fashioned shopping street where you could find virtually anything you need on foot. The union street shopping district contains some of the city’s best eateries, art galleries, fine jewelry stores and trendy boutiques. The street is long, so plan on spending at least half a day exploring up and down the street.
A recent article
Posted in FSH Scavenger Hunt on December 8, 2009 by syds4578An analysis of a recent article written by Robin Givhan, Suzy Menkes or Hilary Alexander.
I read a recent article written by Suzy Menkes. The title is “Techno Revolution”, and it is published on October, 7, 2009 in The New York Times.
She is a fashion reporter and editor for The New York Times now. I found an interesting article that is related with my other two blog post about Lady Gaga fashion by Alexander McQueen in “Bad Romance” Music video and a profile on my least favorite designer ‘Alexander McQueen’. After I read her some of articles, I learned why I have to read many other writings to write well and what the differences between her writing and mine.
Suzy Menkes write everything clearly. Her article is organized well and giving a clear focal point. Each paragraph is really reasonable and combined or harmonized well to understand what she wants to talk to us. First paragraph describes shortly about Techno revolution and the Alexander McQueen’s fashion show. In the next paragraph, she makes it more interesting with Lady Gaga’s Alexander McQueen dress in her “Bad Romance” music video. After then, she put details about the show and clothes and so on. Additionally, she explained about techno revolution how they do an interactive dialogue to make them understand their techno-forward fashion as a creator with their consumer and a bringing fashion into the digital world. These information supported with Mr. McQueen’s, Nick Knight (Mr. McQueen’s partner)’s and Robert Polet (Chief executive)’s statements. Her article is definitely reasonable and interesting.
One book review
Posted in FSH Scavenger Hunt on December 8, 2009 by syds4578one book review

i read one book that is “The Secret”. actually i read it in Korean and it was released late in my country than the U.S. i am not a good reader, so i am always late to read the best-selling books. but it was still popular in my country and makes a big boom. this is only one book that American can know and i read in recent year, so i choose this book for my review. i believe it could be interesting to every one, and it can change some of your life after you read.
The Secret is a book that are written based on a centuries old idea, the Pseudo-scientific Law of Attraction, which is essence is the power of an individual’s positive thinking to change and influence outcomes in their lives. In other words, the Law of attraction, which Byrne says is the most powerful law in the universe, states that people experience the logical manifestations of their predominant thoughts, feelings, and words. This gives people direct control over their lives. A person’s thoughts (whether conscious or unconscious) and feelings bring about corresponding positive or negative manifestations. Positive thoughts bring about positive manifestations while negative thoughts bring about negative manifestations. The theory is very simple. With this idea, the book said we can become wealthier, healthier and happier. If the “Law of Attraction” really exists, many of my dreams can come true in my life. My thoughts become things. It was really interesting information, and it makes me to want to believe it and try it.
There are some steps for it. First, know what you want and ask the universe for it. Second, feel and behave as if the object of your desire is on its way. Third, be open to receiving it. But you have to be with your whole mind, because I have to believe it totally. I feel it is such a Bible. The Secret claims to be able to give us everything what we really want.
In my experience, it is really true. I read this book almost one year ago. After I read, I wanted to try it. So I made a note to write down what I really want and followed the steps. The dreams come true now!!! I got a new car and I got a black cute doggie. I don’t know the Law of Attraction was worked or not, but I still want to believe it.
